I'm wiring in a pair of Hella 500 fog lamps on to my 2003 Prado. I thought that I would replace the factory fog lamp bulbs with a set from SuperBright LED. They, and RockAuto, list my fog light bulb as a H3 bulb. The Toyota manual says its a HB4/9006. SuperBright and RockAuto also list the GX470 headlights as a two bulb (9005 + H-11) unit where the Toyota manual lists a single high/low beam bulb that is a H4/9003.

The manual is correct, of course. So I'm just being curious... are the lights in the U.S. market different than other markets? That'd be a curious decision on Toyota's part...

The US often has different spec headlights from the rest of the world. I think I has to do with illuminated signs on the roadway. But I am not sure in the case of the GX

That's interesting, especially considering that the bulbs in the Prado are available in the U.S.
