How's everyone after this Cold winter. Its warming up out there.
Getting the itch.
Who's up for a wheeling trip?
G-Dub? Crozet? Uwharrie.

When?

Mine is not ready yet. I just ordered a short block, gasket kit, and looking for the right mechanic to do the rebuild. Just to get it right the first time considering the amount of money I poured in to it. Once done, we will be having another meet and greet then wheeling at OBX. How are you Dave?

Got a couple fixes.
Went to OBX/Corova and did some wheeling. Got stopped by the Sherrif coming out from behind pennys hill. Said all the land around pennys Hill was bought and was now posted. Too bad, there are some cool trails back there. The we went up north and hit the Mud Road. They are really deep now. Had water over the hood.

Went to GW-Shoe Creek this past weekend with a Jeep Club. Camped on the trail. Was a good time except I took some body damage on Slick Rock.

STR coming up in a month... Posting the main announcement in it's own thread.

Slick rock

Really, Shoe Creek is a easy, stock friendly, trail. The body damage was on a big ass rock off the main trail.
Shouldnt have done it, it was a probably better for SWB trucks. I got jammed in with my rear stuck and slid into the big rock.

Nice pics Dave! Where is Shoe Creek? Looks like you had a blast eh! Camping looks so good too.

Right about here. The GPS coords put you at the bottom of the trail.
At the top is Crabtree falls. Lots of camping on the trail, all 1st come basis, and primitive.

I have a group headed to Uwharrie at the end of April (4/28 - 5/1). If anyone is interested i'd love to see more Cruisers out there... I'm always outnumbered by the jeep squad... I'll be towing my FJ40 behind my 100 and trail riding both of them. Several others from the 100 forum are planning on going and there is a Uwharrie Post in the Trips and Expeditions Forum for those interested.

Also - Any local meet n greets planned? I've never made to one and know very few fellow cruiserheads in the area.

Thanks for the invite. I might be able to make it.
Camping at badin lake?

Dave

Dave - I'm not sure where we are camping this time. We usually pay for a spot in a campground so people can use the restrooms or showers if they want. Since you can camp anywhere in the URE national forest we've found plenty of cool places right off the trails. We will be getting up there during the week so we should be able to get a good camp site. We can come up with a meeting spot if I know others are coming that aren't familiar with the area; the Eldorado Outpost is a good meet spot.

Our next big Uwharrie run is in June, but some of our guys may get the itch...
