I was a bit inattentive recently and put a small bend in my band saw blade. I've removed it and used a ball peen to take most of it out but is there a way to totally flatten it out to where it isn't noticeable? It's about 3/8" to 7/16" wide. I was wondering about heating w/ my AC torch & just slipping it between the jaws of a vise and clamping down on it but thought that might cause the blade to lose strength or hardness in the heated area. On the other hand it's only 94" long and a new one won't cost more than $20 if I remember. Just wondering.

Once they're kinked you're not gonna get 'em straight without causing more damage. Heating the blade is going to ruin the temper of the steel. Failure won't be far behind. If the cut you're getting now is acceptable I'd run it until it's dull. Otherwise if the blade is only $20 I'd buy several so you have them on hand for the next time.
