Stop your whinning

Hey guys yesterday after coming off the highway doing around 60 mph my trans or transfer began making a weird high pitched whinning noise. Any thoughts on what it could be-bad bearing somewhere maybe???

Tell me more symptoms...mine does that in the AM when it's cold but that's due to a PS pump on it's way out.

Did it stop? How and when?

What kind of tranny & transfer? Year?

it is the one i got of of brett-was on the back of the 77 2F. believe it to be a 77 4 speed and trans. rear main has begun to leak bad must have twisted or crimp the new one that i put in before i bolted up the trans and transfer.

Is the noise speed sensitive or RPM sensitive or load dependent?

c'mon man, I need more info here.

it did not go away, the gear slid on the shaft.

see if the case is hot after driving for a distance at high speeds.
