Hello The kickdown cable on my 92 3fe is sticking causing some hard shifting. I tried getting some lube on it but didnt seem to help. I'm told this item is discontinued- does anyone know a source that might have one on the shelf still? Also any advice/tips for changing this out? Have not been able to find much specific info on the web.

Thanks in advance-

How do you know it's sticking? From the bead to the rubber boot you should have 1-1.5mm. Also before this adjustment can be made accurately you have to adjust the gas pedal cable which is when you have WOT the rotating thingy should just touch the stop.

I know it's sticking because when I move it with my hand it hangs up instead of retracting, After I adjusted it and went for a drive I stomped on the gas and after that it wouldn't shift into 3rd, I popped the hood and the KD cable was stuck from when I stomped on it.

Thanks again

I see. Well the throttle cable attaches inside the trans. pan, so you have to drop the trans. pan to replace it. You should get yourself a FSM.
