my 60 came with a stereo system that has two amp and 6 speakers.
i'm not real sure whats going on with it cause the right rear two speakers (a sub and a coaxal) are not working.
this system has relays and cross overs.(why relays in a sound system?)

my question is: do i start over? take everything out, look up schematics(sp) by model #s?

i'd like to keep the speakers (nakamichi) cause i know they are still working well.
i have two 500w pyle driver subs that i like alot and they are new.

the amps are two different brands. one is a sony and the other ADS.
it seems that each one drives different side in the back. WHY would that be?

just kinda asking what would you do? start over seems to be the obvious.

thanks
:)

It sounds like the install was done a little strange. I personally would make a drawing of how it is wired and see how it can be connected better. From the equipment names you have, it sounds like you have a good start to a great sound system.

I am not sure why there would be relays installed. There should be a wire from the stereo head unit to turn the amps on and off.

sounds like a strange install.. Are your Door speakers driven off the deck or another Amp..

Are the Subs Dual or Single Voice Coil? Dual will have 2 sets of wires on each sub, 4 wires total..

I would see if you can run the subs off of one amp.. then look at rewiring the speakers straight to the amp or deck.. Good speakers like nakamichi like to have an amp to back them or they sound like crap..

if you match up the amp requirements with the speakers/sub and rewire it it should rock!

Ive never heard of a relay in a sound system?? maybe a Capacitor?
