This is probably a longshot but I got ahead of myself and bought a Scion pioneer T10015 head unit from a guy on a forerunner forum (it was a pretty good deal, I thought). I had him send me pictures of the rear of the unit and it had the same plugs as our radios. I have already replaced my factory unit with another Scion unit and it works great but was really wanting a Bluetooth option. Long story short I got it all hooked up and the radio powers on, the Bluetooth connects to my phone but I can’t get any sound out of it. I tried every setting on the radio to no avail. I thought maybe it needed to have the factory amp reconnected so I tried that but that didn’t work either. What really sucks is I don’t know if there’s a connection missing or if the guy just sold me a bad unit. I tried searching but it doesn’t look like anybody else bought one of these yet so I know it’s probably longshot but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pics for reference.

You only don't get sound out of it when bluetooth is connected? Make sure the 'voice' control isn't on. It would engage if you got a call or something and it might stay on. Do you hear anything coming out of the speakers like static or anything?

Which color harness did you plug into the back of the unit? there are usually two. Grey and White. Toyota did this for a few reasons but I tried the white one first and not much happened with the unit so from memory its the grey plug, something to try anyway

Thanks for the reply’s. The stereo would not produce sound at all from any setting. It would show cd’s playing but no sound. It would show the Bluetooth connected and playing a song but no sound.

I plugged in the two connectors that fit. The same two I had connected to my other Scion radio. I tried other plugs but they would not fit in the back.

I’ll check out the supplied links. Many thanks.

Might be why I got it so cheap....

With this being a Scion/Toyota radio it accepted the two plugs that are featured in your video, no different harness needed. The factory plugs plugged right into the rear of this radio.

I was hoping the was a setting or a configuration on the radio that I was missing but I don’t think so. Looks like the guy sold me a broken head unit. It’s frustrating because ALL the controls work. It turns on and off, shows a song playing, pairs to my phone etc... just no sound.

Should be able to work out if its the unit or wiring, if the plug worked fine on the old unit and you are using the same rear connector then its definitely the head unit.
Use some spare speaker wire and wire up a spare speaker from around the house or something and see if that powers up
If it does then you have a wiring issue behind the dash/unit (although i doubt it).

Yeah, I’m using the exact same plugs for both units. I put the old Scion unit back in and it worked fine.

I really hate unscrupulous people...

Did you trying wiring it using the low level outputs? It could be the high level (usb) outlets are bad. Sometimes if you run it thru the low level outputs (if this head unit has them) you can “bypass” the problems with the usb plugs (high level outputs). Just a shot in the dark! Good luck!

I’m too electronically dumb to wire anything! I just used the plugs that I used for my previous Scion radio with the hope that it would work. Everything works....except the sound. :frown:

Did you turn on Bluetooth audio option? I had the same thing with my pioneer unit til I turned it on. Make sure audio options are on. If you already did, I am sorry

I think so but can’t be sure. The head paired with my phone and showed the name of the song and it playing. I tried a CD too and again, it showed the song and playing but no sound.

Regardless appreciate the help.

Check to see if the wires are hooked up right, also did you use the connector to use the secondary connector, not the one you unplugged the original radio from?

If I still lived in SW Missouri I would make a road trip down to figure it out, but Coastal NC is s bit far...... ugghhh
