Making this post as a general welcome and question for steering wheel controls.
I purchased a pretty mint 04 470 with 65,000mi. 1 owner and was garage kept. Got it for 12k. Has the typical cracked dash but prev owner never did the fix.
With the forums help I was able to do the Nav to non nav conversion to the joying. Pretty happy with the outcome.
That said…
I want to leather wrap the steering wheel. For the buttons, can I purchase later year controls with the additional phone answer / hang up? Is it plug n play or would I need to re-pin? Couldn’t find a direct thread.
