So the rubber boot on my pinion rod ripped and because of all the rain the actual joint has rusted and i can barely steer. I took it to the toyota dealership and they told me that the only way that it could rip was because of abuse to the vehicle and it wont be covered under factory warranty, they quoted me 1600 bucks to fix it. I only have 10,000 miles on it, how can this not be covered, they said that there was dirt on my engine and on my tires so it looked like abuse. Sounds like a bunch of **** to me, im really getting tired of Toyota and the lack of customer service and how they seem to dance around everything that breaks on the truck, im seriously thinking about getting rid of the FJ.

I called another dealership and they told me to bring it by to look at but they couldnt make any promises over the phone so we will see what they say.

thank god i found a dealership that will be fixing it under warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week i took my FJ to a Toyota dealership because when i drove it it and it reached 40 miles the car would rattle, once i it went above 40 the rattle would go away.

So the dealership kept it over night, and the next morning the toyota representative called me telling me they found water in my transmission.....i freaked out on the guy.....my car only has 9k miles!....i told the guy that i did not submerge the car in water "the truth".....but the guy still said it was not covered......i called 2 different dealerships, called toyota.com .....and they still told me it was not covered........so, the dealership tells me it will be 6k to get a new one!......i flipped on the clerk big time, my FJ only has 9k miles and i cannot believe this is happening...............thank god for good insurance...i called them they checked it out and offered to pay for the replacement, and i would only have to pay a very low deductible.

this sucks :crybaby:

wow that does suck, i cant beleive they advertise all these vehicles as being offroad capable then as soon as anything comes in that looks like it may be an offroad related problem they refuse to cover it under warranty. Its a joke.
