Hey all,

I know a few people have installed the older FJC steering racks (2006-2009) in 2010+ FJC's. Are they a bolt for bolt swap? Or do you have to modify anything? (I've read mixed articles on this)

I'm pretty close to needing a swap, and have some tie rod parts that are not compatible with the 2010+ steering rack. Inner tie rod end on 2006-2009 is m22x1.5, on 2010+ it's m24x1.5. Already purchased Camburg tie rod end clevis, they said it would fit, didn't. Long story short I still have them and would like to use them. And no one else to my knowledge makes them in the correct size.

Also looked around to see if I could find an adapter, nada. Machine shop was going to be $200+ to make them.

Images attached at what I am attempting to install.

I didn't realize they changed in 2010+ models. I've installed a handful of racks in mine because they keep failing (to hold up to my abuse ).
Dude! You were my only hope!

I'm pretty sure all the fab shops made everything for the 2006-2009 and assumed it was all the same parts. Fair amount of things changed in the 2010+

You might have to make nice with a dealership parts manager and see if he/she can get both for visual inspection.
If you have read that it's been done, then my guess is that the major frame elements (mounting holes) have not changed from the two iterations of FJCs and that the older rack would indeed work. It's really only two major bolts that hold the rack in place.
