I pulled apart the steering box today on the FJ45LV 'cause there was great gobs of grease leaking at the pitman arm. Yes, I know it's supposed to have oil in the box but the PO stuffed it full of grease because the oil seal was toast.

I found probably a 1/2 dozen shims or spacers in the bottom of the box all bent up. How many are usually used?

I reread my manual and found the answer, 5 @ 0.5mm and 6 @ 0.3mm for a total of 11.
