Well I got a response from Frank at Stockton Wheels regarding the cost of steel wheels. No, they are not cheap...

So, if anyone is interested, here you go. You can ask about the other designs as well but I don't know if they will be available.

It would be nice if a vendor would step up and buy a bunch for sale. Price may go down a bit then.

<16x8 5x150mm 72 series powdercoated = $145.00 each.

Nice looking wheel though:

vaguely remembered it being more when I asked about a year ago. Could have been $200 ea.
Maybe different style.
Worth it to ask CDan, though, could be less -if he has them at all.

Plenty of benefits to having a second set of wheels. Ideally, I'd like some steel wheels with MT's and I could keep my LTX's on the stock. I'm sure OEM wheels cost a bundle but I realize you can get the stock ones on ebay for $300??? a set.

What about US Wheel?

There's a difference between getting something new and buying something off ebay that some one wants to get rid of. It's kind of an unfair comparison.

The price for OEM steel wheels for the 80 are between $110 and $120 last time I looked, so $145 isn't that big of a difference, IMO.

I bet we could get some steel wheels from cruiser dan.

As in, an option. They make A LOT of steel wheels. Have you checked with them?

guys .. im buying a set of 5 wheel

72 series

powdercoated Black

17X9 with 5 BackSide

and bedLock

what do you think about the offset ??

Which size tire are you planning on using? That needs to be considered to determine offset.

But generally speaking, on a 9" wide wheel, a +47mm offset would give an inside wheel clearance the same as stock and increase the track width by 1"
So the backspacing would be the same as stock (~6.85")

If using a tire wider than 315 or 325, you might need to decrease the offset to give more inside wheel clearance.

Use this calculator to help you with offset:
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

To calculate backspacing, use this formula:
(rim width ) / 2 + 0.5 + (offset /25.4) = backspacking

Isn't the new tundra going to be 5 lug. If that is the case and they will also fit the 100, steel wheels are going to be all over the place and hopefully less than 145 each.

Yeah, good call. I'd wait. Getting a custom replacement wheel overseas doesn't sound fast, fun nor cheap.

doesn't that look like an American Racing Wheel except Gray?

I believe the new Tundra will have the correct 5 lug pattern but we don't know about the backspacing and we don't know what size steel wheels will be available. If they don't make 16" steel wheels for the new Tundra, then it doesn't help most of us.

yes 315 wide .. i know how a 10 wide wheel with 5 backside will look on the LC100 .. nice but may be a little too much sticking out ..
