I started this engine swap....... I need to have this all figured out by the time surf'nturf rolls around.... two days into it and i have the motor out, tore apart, and I have all the goodies at the machine shop.....

It is a 4.3 chevy (high output version) bored .30 over crank cut .10 under

Installing a edelbrock performer intake man, performer cam, performer valve springs, and edelbrock ship. Making this a true roller set up.... I'm going to pocket port the heads......... this is going to be mated to a recently re-built w-56 running a marlin dual ultimate set up....

Here is a link to the current status..

WOW, 1 mo to go. That a dead line, you can do it and she will rip in the sand. Why not switch to a R151 tranny, they are stronger

I will change trans once this one blows out... It is not a matter of if but when..... at that time I will go thru the motions but i figure it is going to last me at least a couple of months and that will give me time to put away some cash for a good trans... the going rate on those things is like 700 bucks w/tcase a lot in my opinion.. but I have to put some money away.......

Nice job Frank. You are taking on all the hard mods early, bobbed bed, engine swap...

My memory is fuzzy but wouldn't doing the tranny with the engine save you from having to buy the adapter to mate the 4.3 to the w85?

Actually the adapter I picked up used for 75 bucks and it came w/a new clutch disc... A real steal because the bellhousing from Advance Adapters or Downey is 400 bucks..... I'm sure the trans isn't going to hold up for too long but hopefully just enough for me to get some funds together for this next trans swap.....

I'm also setting the new W-56 trans w/2.28 front t-case and 4.7 rear t-case......

Mo you going to S'n'T?????

Heck you can't beat that.

Unfortunately can't make it again. New baby and new buisness make it impossible for now. Hope to have things settled enough to make it next year.

You realize you can write off the trip as a promotional expense right?

Show off that rear bumper!
