The car is a 1988 ford laser (mazda 323, or who knows what you guys had it badged as)...
anyway it's a 1.6 litre, carb'd motor with electronic choke.
it runs awesomely, plenty of power through therev range,but when it warms up (and the e-choke disengages) it always stalls when the clutch is in and it's allowed to drop back to idle.
it starts right back up straight away, and a tiny bit of throttle keeps it running, and when it does die, it's more like someone turning it off, it doesn't splutter or anything.
now i know fawk all about carbies, having always run propane or diesels, what could the problem be
