So, I had a disagreement with a concrete pillar in the parking garage at my office.

The PS rear fender well got slightly tweaked in my 2000 F350. The bondo patch is bugging the living crap out of me. I found some spray bomb cans that are color matched to stock color.

Question is has anyone here used these cans before? I do not have a huge area to fill in, and the spray bomb cans would be lots easier than pulling out all my paint gear..

Obviously I'll treat it like a standard patch job, just using a spray can instead of my spray guns..

I've used color matched spray cans before. Certainly not perfect, but they passed the 10 foot test. I got mine from Sherwin-Williams.

Have never used these before either, but I am sure if you taped off your area, prepared your surface properly and take your time it should be fine, obviously it won't look 100% factory but so what?

I always like to do a test patch in an inconspicuous area, or apply the bondo to some spare sheet metal not attached to the vehicle to see how the end process will look.

I also just got a can of duplicolor to fix up some chips and hope it matches well enough. I also got their clear coat but then I read some great reviews about this Spray Max 2k clear. Supposedly it sprays better and levels out nice and smooth where the DC doesn't. Costs a bit more though, about double. I'm thinking of getting a can.

Anyone use it?

NAPA sells color coded paint.
Pricey, like $20/ can.
I painted two doors of my Blazer with it, metallic blue, and with an extra clear coat and hand sanding in between paint coats it came out well.

I'm in the middle of painting the fender flare molding strips with the Duplicolor can and the match is very good. Not perfect but you'd probably never notice it unless you were looking for it. Granted it's a small strip, but they look great.

Good luck on your painting job.
