Ford speedo not workin... (2 Viewers)

i got an 85 f250 with a 4.9 and a 4 speed manual trans... im tryin to figure out which part is the problem of my non functioning speedo... i dont think its the cable itself czu every once in awhile ill see the needle move ever so slightly... i think its one of the two gears, but how do check them to make sure that theyre good so i dont buy the wrong one?

Do you have rear abs brakes? speed sensors in newer models will cause speedometer issues. I dont remember if 85 had abs or not.

no abs at all, just regular brakes that still stop on a dime.
