I am heading up to SPARKS TOYOTA on Friday to meet Jamie and the Service Manager that are working with us. I am going to show them two popular mods on the FJ Cruiser to see if they will start offering that service for owners...

If Jim wants to meet me there I can pass off the Belmont stuff....I dont have a lot of room but can play pack mule to Myrtle. If that rollbar fits I will bring it back with me instead of waiting for HAMOM for Glenn.

I plan on rolling out early Friday morning NLT 8am...so if you got something to go up or want something brought back hit me up Thursday evening at latest.

I plan on being at Sparks around 12:30-1:00pm and likely spend an hour or so there. If you want my cell PM me if you dont already have it and will send it out before I depart. I think Jim and Dave Milligan already have it.

Ask him about when the new 09' Trail Teams Cruiser is coming. Also find out, or you may already know, if the TRD wheels are fake beadlocks or not. If they are fake, I wouldn't be interested.

09 FJC Trail Teams? 09 have stopped being made....line shut down....when it starts up will be for 2010 models which is going to include green exterior paint and they are getting rid of voodoo blue. Also, know of no beadlocks on TRD wheels....would almost promise they are fake...but will ask.

2010 FJ Cruiser. - Tacoma World Forums

I think it was at SEMA.

Sandstorm w/matching roof, blacked out trim, two-tone seats, hood sticker, GPS with topo trails installed, TRD wheels/ AT tires.

Nothing too special, just kinda digged the sandstorm look with the blacked out trim.

I read somewhere that 10' was getting a restyle, I guess there is a lot of unknowns about the upcoming FJ's. I would assume that if the line was shut down, then this may be the 10' TT SE, but since I heard they were reskinning it, now I am not sure.

Did they shut the line down for mass production only? Can you still special order an 09', or do have to pick from what's out there?

Edit: I know the thread says 2010 FJCruiser, but the card at SEMA for the TT SE rig said 2009 Trail Teams FJCruiser.

I was looking for an FJ a few weeks ago before I decided to just try and find a FZJ80 and it's my understanding after talking to a guy at Sparks that the new FJ's will be showing up around August. However, anyone who has been checking the Toyota website will notice that the '09's are showing up on the website but are unavailable till late July/August.

Also, I've heard the new FJ's have a better engine with better milage and you can run 87 in em. That's just what I've been told though.

You can run 87 in all of them now. I haven't heard of a power boost, but manuf. sometimes find little ways to gain a few hp's for marketing on a new year model.

See, I learn something everyday! Thanks!

To my credit though, this is just what the salesperson told me over the phone when I was asking about the new FJ's coming out. Does anyone have a link to the green color?

I haven't seen it. Some pictures are floating around of a few FJ's that were painted claiming to be the "new" color, but I think it is all a mystery right now. If they make it the same color as the original green FJ40's and no metallic added, it will be a hot seller.

You can run 87 in the current motor....it is only rated for PREMIUM to meet EPA standards but they run great with 87...TRUST ME:grinpimp: I actually have tracked my mileage for a year now without missing a fillup...and got my best performance on the highway with 89 Octane from Sunoco or 93 Octane from Shell....but running 87 Octane from Sunoco or BP was only .5mpg difference and usually I do it around town and then try to put Premium in her for a long trip or when wheeling.

I have talked to a couple guys that work with Toyota and one is in Japan right now actually. 09 was to have new silver color, new Trail Team version, added rear back up camera, and a switch to turn off side curtain airbags....otherwise was same vehicle as 08.

2010 is losing voodoo blue and going with an olive or shade of green....some minor body fender mount changes and a couple other small things but was told engine was tuned to give a little better performance but basically unchanged. We shall see when they finally release specs.

2010 and maybe 2011...then suppose to lose 4Runner and FJ Cruiser and Toyota is thinking about coming out with a new offroad rig that takes best of both. OR so we have been told. There is a lot of misinformation out in dealerships depending who you talk to....so nobody really knows until they start back up the assembly line in Japan in August....if then.

I am moving up my time to be at Sparks to 12:30 -2pm as the Service Guy is leaving by 2pm....so will see you there if able to make it. Take some lemon pound cake for the road when you leave Florence so you can make it to the beach. :D

Met up with David at Max and Ermas, a upscale OCharlies or RubyTuesday...had a lunch and then headed to sparks around 12:30PM. Jim rolled in with his kids about the same time we pulled up and parked our three rigs in Service Only slots...LOL

Jamie came out soon and went gaga over the rigs....he fell in love with Jims restored 40 :). Then I was asked to pull my FJ Cruiser in a bay so the Service Tech shop manager could take a look at a couple things. I showed them the SCUBA MOD and the BODY MOUNT CHOP. Then we talked about suspension installs especially compressing struts for front end, dual battery mods, skid plates, racks, offroad lights, ATrac hack, etc. They were all for modifying the vehicles for offroad usage and thought what we are doing is great.

We are having our meeting there in August and will have something lined up instead of just a meeting while there. They were very excited and were very open to helping us with acquiring aftermarket parts and also doing the installs....both new and old Land Cruisers.

As soon as David and I get back from Colorado I will finalize everything and post more info...Great bunch of guys up there at Sparks Toyota.

Thanks for hospitality JAMIE and Shawn.
