Hi all -
I just had some new BFG AT's put on my 95 LC, and I put the relatively new LT265/75R16 Big-O tires on my 2007 Tacoma 4wd, since they had much more tread life on them than the original tires (BFG Rugged Terrain P265/70R16's).

My question is...should I keep the BFG Rugged spare, with good tread (maybe unused?) on the Tacoma, or put the older, third brand spare tire from the LC on as the Tacoma spare - since it is the same size as the other 4 tires. Or, in other words, will the difference in size cause problems with the 4wd system if it had to be driven for a long distance with one smaller tire?

Thanks for the help.

I would opt for the same size tire for my spare. Especially since you have a LC which I presume is full time 4 wheel drive.

When I installed new tires on my Taco I sold my original unused spare to the tire shop for credit on a new matching size spare. Just my 02.

When we bought new tires for the LX450 I used the best old tire for the new spare - the original spare was dry rotted.
