Normally I'd agree whole-heartedly with you, but the way the FJC gets bashed around here by some existing TLCA members makes one wonder if they are truly welcome.

I'd love to join my TLCA chapter but it's on the other side of the beltway (in VA), and around here it takes 45 minutes to go 10 miles! Not anybody's fault, just an unfortunate circumstance.

That is simply untrue and unfair to TLCA. There are many benefits to joining the TLCA and there are some GREAT members in socal, so it's your loss to exclude yourself from this group.

On top of that, I've made effort to make sure that FJC tech is a welcome place for FJC members. If there is bashing going on here, tell me and I will attend to it.


TLCA has made clear effort to show that the FJC is welcome, Socal happens to be a great location b/c there are alot of quality Cruiserheads here. They are experienced wheelers, brillant wrenches & quality people that welcome new members w/ open arms.

a few suggestions-
1. Look for trail runs in the "trail & trip report" section that you can join
2. Look in the TLCA section of the forum, there are a few TLCA socal clubs you can post and ask questions
3. If you want to go w/ FJC owners specifically, post in this section first and I can move it later to the "trail" section w/ a re-direct.

I apologize for sounding like I was generalizing, but it is a bit disheartening to go over to the CHIT-CHAT forum and see a lot of FJC bashing. Sometimes you wonder if it's even worth posting there for fear of getting some snide comments just because you own an FJC. I realize it's a free-for-all over there and it really hasn't happened in the FJC tech forum (thank God).

I, and others, appreciate the majority who welcome the sometimes newbie FJC folks. We also appreciate the work of folks like you.

out of what, 7000 regular forum participants, you'll find less than a dozen that are vocal haters....

interestingly, a few I know were not fans have converted after driving....no surprise....and, for all you know, you MAY be the one to convert another one to liking them....ya just never know....

let the "haterz" spend time in Chat, we're quick to toss those threads there, where they belong....

It(bashing)is not allowed here I really want this to be a great stop for FJC owners. IH8MUD is a unique place b/c it has a wealth of Cruiserheads to draw on for experience & history & like-minded people. If anyone goes to a TLCA event they will see what a great group Cruiserheads are
( Surf n Turf is an EXCELLENT event for FJC guys to go to- check out realcruiser.com )

Getting worked up about Chit-Chat is silly. It's a catch-all section that talks about ingrown toenails to Dr. Phil issues. If it upsets you, don't read it. Getting upset in Chit Chat is like slitting your wrist in a ocean full of sharks...

If you join and go to a meeting or event you will have nothing but love. You won't find a nicer bunch of folks anywhere.

Again, if you're not a member of the TLCA and your local chapter, join. It's open to any Toyota 4wd owner and it's cheap.

They won't say s*** when you spank their asses! Seriously, people in these groups tend to be very welcoming.

Check out TTORA also. As a matter of fact, they are having a Big Bear run real soon.

4 wheel drive's, However we are at least 70% (TLCA Guidelines) Toyota.
I myself went to all Toyota Dealerships around here and passed out cards
and tried to inform dealers who and what we were. Ron Q. is the Lead driver for the west coast trail team... he is a member of Our club.

Pit Bulls (Most other breeds are never bashed... something about dogs over there...)

Junk
Cats
Women & Sex (Those two seem to go together)
Mormons
Bashing other members by name is also fair game in Chat.
gubs
Homosexuals
God and every religious topic known to man
Heeps, Hummers, and most vehicles ( ... though most Toyotas are excluded from the hate...)
Girl Scouts
... and last I heard they were trashing cheerleaders for some reason.

Do not make any assumptions about 'Mud members based on anything you see in Chat.
