No! SOTEC is totally free to join and participate in. If you are not wanting to donate to us or join the OF4WD, that’s fine. However, consider coming out and donating your time during cleanups, materials for cleanups (bags, gloves, buckets, grabber tools). Other things like participating in our food drives or charitable events is also greatly appreciated. All the money SOTEC raises is put into trails or community endeavours.
Every year the SOTEC club registers as an official member of the Ontario Federation of four wheel drive (OF4WD) which gets our members a 50% discount on their yearly membership.
This thread is to give information to those interested in joining, renewing and all other things.
Why Register:
A membership for the OF4WD supports our local Ontario trails, gets you all the trail maps which include ratings and updates on conditions and discounts for vehicle items. The OF4WD membership usually costs $50. With a $10 contribution to SOTEC, it is $25. So, for $35 you are helping TEC keep trails cleaned up while supporting the organization (OF4WD) that advocates to keep our trails open.
When to Register?
The OF4WD membership is a physical year. So you could register whenever, but it’s best to renew or join in January.
For those renewing, the SOTEC club sends out emails to renew in late December early January, so you can have your promo code for that 50% discount.
How to Register and Get a Promo Code:
Currently we ask for $10 CAD. This can be paid in person or by e-transfer. When you etransfer, please include your email or some form of contact information as we will need to send you the promo code!

Once we have received your $10, we send you the promo code, along with some other information on how to register with OF4WD.
