Solid state external voltage regulator?

Has anyone found/used a solid state alternator external voltage regulator? Possibly one that fits under the original cover?

A while ago I bought a solid state regulator for 1969 FJ40. It was from Wagner. I believe the earlier ones were discontinued at this time.

Maybe you are related ? Just to let you know, I bought the solid state one because I thought the original one may go obsolete. Now that vintageparts has them I am still running the original one. I suppose I am a purist. Nice to have vendors that still help the community.
