Been watching how these tube can suck up the inrared heat from the sun and store the heat into this tank for three days after a big snow storm at 10F and the water is STILL 90F!
Anyone here every make the tubes from these systems? The construction shows two glass tubed one smaller then the other, fused at both ends then a copper tube with acetone filled into the copper tube and sealeed with a bulb at the end. The inner tube is painted with heat absorbing paint which the aluminum or copper fins that are soldered to the tube, absorb the heat into the tube.
Tempted to take old florescent tubes and cut the ends of and if I am lucky, find a tube of smaller diameter and then put rubber seal between them and evacuate with a small tire stem. might work.
Do plumbing shops sell copper bulbs the same size as co2 cartridges?
Here is a compete system for sale on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Solar-Evacu...r-/221308598880?ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:3160
