Hi All - Well the time has come to move on... this has been a great vehicle for me and my family for the past 6+ years, but we have two GX's and one has to go. I'm hoping I can find a good home for this one!
However, there are some issues and the price will reflect it!
Here are the basics:
2006 Lexus GX470
Ash Blue Mica
~190K Miles
Clean Title - Southern CA car
The good:
- Dobinsons 2" Lift
- SSO rear air bag delete kit
- Non-nav conversion and Android HU installation (apple carplay and android auto compatible) + backup camera
- SPC front upper control arms
- Replaced OEM front lower control arms (new when installed, still in very good shape)
- Brand new OEM sport headlights (just installed within the last year)
- RRW full seat interior upholstery replacement, although lower drivers side bolster is already torn... IYKYK
- Leather wrapped OEM steering wheel (covered the wood!)
- Front recovery points
- Side window chrome delete
- Babied for the last 6 years!
The bad:
- Oil leaks... Timing cover, valve covers, and main seal oh my (severity not horrible, but needs to be addressed sooner rather than later)
- Front CV axles are after market (~5 years old) and boots are already slightly torn and already leaking
- Power steering - High pressure hose appears to be leaking... possible issues with steering rack, but that was replaced 20k miles ago, so should be fine. Currently making noise though!
- Rear brakes are worn and need replacing (front brakes are fine)
- Driver side rear shock is leaking and needs to be replaced (I have a replacement shock, but it just hasn't been installed)
- Tires are Falken Wildpeak at3w's in 285/70r16... good tread still, but tires are old and probably need to be replaced
- Exhaust manifold gaskets - Mechanic thinks it's fine, but may need to get replaced eventually
- Traction/Slip control kicks on randomly in low speed turns
Ultimately this is a 20 year old car, and it's starting to show... But I'd prefer to get it into the hands of someone who will breathe some new life into it and have some adventures (vs. dumping to Carmax). I wanted to be honest and up front about the work that needs to be done, and certainly the biggies are the main seal, oil leaks, and un-diagnosed traction control issue.
Maintenance and work log was kept and can be provided... Carfax also available.
Will post pics later.
