Just starting A soa it is a 88 fj62 the few ques I have are do I have to do the c & t or can I get by without it for now if I can where should I weld on the perches, What angle should the pinion flange read? Same thing for the rear? I have one cv shaft to use should it go in the front or the back sorry if these ques are dumb I am new in the off road game I used to circle track race.

IMHO.

C&T the front and use the rear DS for the front.

then point the rear DS at the tcase and use the front CV.

But, lots of people just get by leaving the front and rear axles where they are stock..

So if I left the front for now without the c & t I will get buy kinda nervous about the whole c & t thing I have a spare front axle so I will attempt it later just want to get on the road or should I say off

62's have the best chance of working without the cnt

Why? everybody talks about it, do they have more camber built in so you can point the diff up without sacrificing camber to much if that makes sense more like a 60 spec

I am pretty sure the 62 doesn't need the CNT as bad b/c the auto trans (it is longer than the manual) pushes back the transfer case lessening the angle of the driveshaft...

That make sense so with a regular drive shaft I will want the flanges to read the same measurment fom what I understand correct me if I am wrong

Correct - if you don't cut and turn.

Just out of curosity, what is scaring you about the C and T?
I do understand the worrie, but what specifically about it is causing you the most concern?
I was in the same boat last year, and found that the C and T is actually quite easy.
I did use my stock front shaft post c and t and clearenced the u joints. Its has worked pretty well, but I do plan on getting a DC shaft in time.
I did a write up here in the 60 section and described the c and t step by step...It might help you in your decision.

you can get away without the C & T on the front but the rear WILL vibrate like mad. you'll need a c/v in the rear & point the pinion at the t-case.

I recomend doing the C&T on the front as it will raise the shaft out of harms way.

C&T is easy. Alot easier than you'd think. I had Proffitt's do mine back in the day and then I just redid it myself two months ago because I put on higher springs. It was not hard.
I really should post up some pictures........

Well finished SOA did the c&t was easy enough. I took the truck out to the badlands to test all the driveshaft angles everything came back in one peice and there is no vibrations, so it was a sucsess, Thanks for all the help I will post some pics soon
