I just went thru this program last year after being in the manufacturing industry for 20 years and I can tell you it's been the best thing ever.

Typical Responsibilities
The Planner Trainees will attend a one year Service Planner Development Program (SPDP), that includes 9 months of formal
classroom training in Chino, CA, and 3 months of on the job training in a work location. The successful candidate must be available
to attend this 12 month training program. Planner Trainees will be thoroughly trained to develop estimates, and prepare work
orders, drawing or construction plans, and bills of materials used at the planning stage of new engineering and construction
projects. The Planner typically completes residential and commercial projects involving panels of 800 amps or less and residential
subdivisions, and designs load growth and infrastructure replacement projects for distribution facilities. Typical responsibilities will
include: Gathering data from records, other divisions of the Company, or field inspections. Applying Company, industry, and
regulatory standards, formulas and specifications; preparing work orders for crews concerning the construction, relocation,
installation and/or maintenance of facilities and equipment associated with service provision, overhead electrical distribution, and/or
underground electric distribution systems. Investigating customer complaints regarding placement and operation of electrical lines
and associated equipment; interacting with a diverse customer base on meeting electrical design needs; providing successful
outcomes for the customer and Company on assigned projects. Coordinating activities with other internal personnel and
organizations to ensure compliance and appropriate follow-through, policies, procedures, rules, rates and completion dates.
Maintaining a current understanding of industry practices, standards and customer needs; coordinating activities with customers,
drafting technicians, engineers, other utilities, city or local government organizations and crews. Performing other duties as
