I've been messing around off-payment or off-road or overlanding whatever you want to call it ever since I was on a kid on a farm in Maryland and nothing was paved. About 10 days ago I came across a new video game, Snowrunner, which provides the opportunity to drive a long list of rigs across a widely varied set of terrain, meeting a laundry list of challenges, in amazingly life-like conditions. I'm new to gaming so I've obviously started from way, way behind but the first couple of weeks have been just marvelous. Snowrunner has all sorts of appeal to me, especially since it's apt to be a long time before I get out on the trail, live, again. Anyone else checked it out?

Looks pretty cool! What are you playing it on Vince?

Found a link to this game on the site above. Looks like this was the original one they released a couple years ago. Has some truck on the site with a 40ish front end.

I've been seeing a bit about and been wanting to check it out. Glad to hear from someone that actually is playing it and liking it. Looks like I'll be buying the game.

I've been wanting to trash someone else's rig on the trails for a long time... maybe this is as close as it gets for me?

Playing it on a PC. Mouse + Keyboard. You move at a crawling pace so you don't need rapid inputs from a controller, although a controller might be better for steering. I've switched trucks and almost completed my first contract, hauling stuff to get a washed out bridge rebuilt.

Mudrunner was the predecessor, no experience with it; this one is supposed to be much more detailed and realistic. It was raining this morning (in the game) which was pretty real. Lots of mud everywhere, but as in real life, momentum is your friend in the absence of proper tires and diff locks (both can be obtained on certain vehicles).

Looks cool, it's about my speed for gaming too. I may be checking that out this weekend for my ps4.

Glad you posted something about it. I've already downloaded and starting playing on my laptop. Definitely seeing this suck a lot of my time...

Major time suck, but lots of fun. Super-realistic. I've completed my first contract.

Luckily we have plenty of time. Have fun with the diversion. I may get into this one too. What system are you using.

I got to go visit Alaska yesterday and now my car isn't as capable as I need... tempted to buy the season pass for better rigs.
I played for a good 6hrs yesterday while I was "working from home"
I'm blaming you haha

Is this full of in game purchases and micro transactions?

You have the option to make it that way, but you don't need to. They sell expansions and extra vehicles you can buy with real money if you don't want to wait to earn money in the game to buy em.
