so, this weekend I scored a free 10, or 11' aluminum boat that looks awesome! it's super old, like 40+ years.
I'm currently taking the old paint down, and I'm gonna make it polished, and shiny:)

BUT..... the trailer is a basket case. it broke in half, half way home, and I had to put it in the bed of a truck.

I'm looking for the cheapest solution to a trailer, so I can look like a BAMF when I take the boat to the river, towing behind my Fj40

buy a trailer? or salvage the axle, and build on top of it?

Broken Trailer welded... kinda

I cut out the swiss-cheese rust, and had a buddy of mine weld 4 peices of 90 degree angle iron around the square tube. a little bit of strait edge measuring, hammering, and rewelding was required.

the trailer is still pretty darn straight after welding, but that's just one spot....

I'll get pictures up soon as I find where I left my camera....

It needs: a new tongue, new lights, Fla. tag, and get rid of more swiss cheese rust

I believe the trailer is still salvageable

oh yeah, RUST NEVER SLEEPS
