My 99 4runner is doing this slow starting thing. I let it warm up for a good couple of minutes in the morning, and reverse acts fine out of the driveway. When I put it in D, it barely goes for about 20 - 30 seconds, then slowly starts gaining speed and then its fine. Doesnt feel like its out of gear, it doesnt suddenly jolt forward, just real slow going, but the RPMs increase with more gas, but no go.

Any suggestions ???

When did you have the transmission fluid flushed and filled last? You might need to have the fluid changed. Mine, when I got it, did that and when they flushed it they found a fair amount of water in the fluid. Speculation is that when cold the water would turn to ice crystals and keep the fluid from moving through the valve body like it should have. Once warm- it wouldn't happen again till tomorrow morning on a cold start-up.

Thats what other people have said also. I went and had it done last week, and its been better, but its also been warmer. I'm going to clean my throttle body and MAF and check the plugs, but hopefully that will be it.
Thanks for the reply.
