I love my Slee front bumper… and, the passenger “Left Splash Pan”) literally got ripped out as I was doing Black Bear Pass. I believe it happened on one of the switchbacks at full lock in reverse while the shock on that side was being compressed must have hit the fender liner, where this splash pan screws in to hold the liner in place. I removed the splash pan and drove the rest of the way.
Just for reference, I have Kings 2.5s with about a 2-2.5 inch lift, and Falken Wildpeak 295/70/18s. I also have an Anderson Outfitters KDSS kit to move the KDSS to a natural position to avoid the tire from hitting it, which seems to have worked great.
If anyone has some ideas or solutions, aside from smaller tires, please let me know. Replacing with the same splash pan doesn’t seem like the best option since it’ll likely catch on full lock and articulation again. Plus Slee doesn’t just sell that replacement parts, which kind of sucks. But I also don’t want water and mud getting flung up into the engine bay.
