I just melted my cap and rotor after replacing plugs nad tuning the carb. Looks like signal generator is melted as well. Its the black half moon plastic peice under the cap that says do not remove! WTF!

The black piece is just a cap over the SG. The signal generator are still available from Toyota. I got a price of 142.00 from Champion (formerly Jay Marks).
But sounds like you have something weird going on. Never heard of a Chernobyl distributor.:hhmm:

iffn your goodies under the cap have taken a s***, you need to check your dizzy venting for proper operation, otherwise the new replacement parts will do the same...:frown:

dizzy venting

do you think i could run the truck without attaching any vaccume lines to the dizzy, just to see if the sg is still functioning. The sg cover looks like it might be a little close, since it has deformed, to the sprocket/gear that the rotor attaches to . The rotor by the way is melted in half and the cap looks like it imploded. I guess come fuel vapor got in there and ignited, causing this whole fiasco. should both vaccume lines have suction, or is one venting to the atmosphere. Thanks for any help guys.
