Anything 03-current 4runner side steps will mount to same bolt under the side sill. Anything sold for 2010 + LIMITED 4runner will have lower bracket due to side skirt design.

At $350 for the nerf bars you aren't far off from a real set of rock sliders (see my build thread for installing $700 Apex 5th gen T4R sliders on my GX470). The rock sliders are wider and have a big kickout under the rear door that really helps my small kids climb in. It also gives me a good foothold to access the roof rack. Even if you aren't off roading your GX they'll probably provide better protection in the event of a T-bone, prevent door dings, prevent damage in tight parking areas, etc. They are the best mod I've done to my GX and much prefer them to side steps since they are totally solid instead of flexy (like the OEM steps and the nerf bars will be).

Thanks guys! This is what I need. I would LOVE to go the sliders route but I can find some used 4Runner nerf bars for cheap locally. Straight on a budget, homie! :)

Plenty of people run steps like the N-Fab tube steps, and they look pretty good for a GX that doesn't need full slider protection. Gotta get a bit creative with how much of the factory running board trim to cut and use so it looks good, but that's the same with any slider.

I'm running the ironman side steps. Easy install. Look good imo. Maybe check them out. I got mine for %25 off with free shipping.

Much obliged. My google-fu was not near as good as yours. I guess that is to be expected from Mr. Norris.

Haha I looked into those quite a bit for mine, so it was in my search history. They seem like a good option for light duty use. Make sure to trim your sliders instead of removing them to get the best outcome as well.
