Looks like a great trip, maybe when I'm off my powder snow high I'll wander down south and join ya'll!

That Tacoma makes me drool, as I'm just coming off a 10-12mpg trip to Gonzaga....Seems to be the best of both worlds.

Cheers!

It would be great for you to come along. I have a few more trips planned through summer, including several to Mexico. Let me know if you want to attend: http://www.expeditionswest.com/adventures/schedule.html

Thanks for the kind words on the truck. I typically get 16-18 mpg in mixed driving, even with the 33's.

As the selection of appropriate expedition vehicles continue to dwindle, the Tacoma is one of the better choices. Of couse, if I could buy a TLC 105, it wouldnt be an issue :)

There just are not many good expedition solutions available anymore...

Scott, when will the entire Copper Canyon route be up on the web? I'm thinking of taking that run this summer on the way back from Guatemala.
Will you be posting more detailed route info? I can follow most of the route in my Guia Roji map book but not all of it.

Cruiser_guy,

We need to talk. I think we can be of assistance to each other.

I am planning a trip to Guatemala for fall of this year (Cival Mayan site hopefully), and could use your expertise.

For Copper Canyon:

I have a complete route guide, track and waypoint/road log for over 270 miles of dirt roads through the Sierra Madre. We completed a full traverse from east to west of the major canyons. It was incredible!

I have been working on the article more consistently over the last few weeks. I hope to have an installment finished every month or so...

But you don't need to wait for that. Just shoot me an email ( guide "at" expeditionswest.com )
