Anyone have one/ can recommend a brand? I need to chase some loose sparks on my FJ40 and was tring to see if anyone has used one- Harbor Frt. has had one before- there look slike the SG tool one will chase intermittents as well, ~ $40.

I have a Fluke and one of those 12v testers with the light in it. You're welcome to borrow them. The Fluke has an audible alarm setting for 0-Ohms that makes it a lot easier for checking continuity.

I ended up getting itchy and ordered one- it has a meter and a probe; a friend of mine who owns a shop told me it would work way better in my old, metallic 'cruiser than new cars- lets' see what happens-

I got it and it looked like a relay was shorted ? wha????????? so I replaced it- bought some form EBay when a guy was liquidating a stereo shop- I wish I'd bought all of what he had-
STILL, the new alternator doesn't start to charge until the RPM's get above idle.

THIS THING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone needs to troubleshoot a short/ intermiittent, PM me and we'll git 'er done.
