I have a set that started off as stock from a 78' Fj40.
I had Mike Fox cut new side plates for them to make 1.5" longer than stock.
He cut and drilled the holes, I pressed the pins in. They worked OK for a month or two, I think they were a little too "lightweight" for the 40.

I decided to go with some beefy ones from CCOT. No longer need these.
If you want them asap, I can ship em' to you, otherwise I can bring em to the FG.

Should I assume, by the lack of reply, that you are all set?

Hey Spud, sorry to do your tag line justice!

I don't think they will be long enough and will know this weekend when I can spend some time on the trailer. I'll give you a hollar if they will work.

Is the river that you park your van next to in the Boston area? Maybe drop by and pick them up, provided you don't body slam my coffee table.

Thanks
Randy

You mean you don't have a pile of steel you could find a set of shackle plates in?! :ban::D I'm sure you could cut and drill them in the time it would take to chase after a ready made set.

Hint: tack weld the material together in such a way that you make each set at the same time. If yer REALLY smart, and I know yer pretty bright fer a city boy :D, you tack two long pieces together, drill 4 holes then make one cut and get two pairs of shackles.

:idea:Make sure you have plenty of  on hand and that you drink it too.

Now, off to the garage and get'r done! :hillbilly:
