The date is going to be 14 January 2012.....3pm show time...eat around 4ish or so.

Looking at oysters, soda, beer, water, side dishes, desserts, crackers and hot sauce for oysters, hot dogs maybe for people that don't like oysters or kids, "apple pie", and will also likely have fire in barrel for warmth.

This is in planning stages still...so we have time to discuss. Right now appears to be:

Glenn and wife (Confirmed)
Brock and wife (Confirmed)
Clayton and wife (Confirmed)
Michael and wife and kids (Confirmed)
Robert and Jess (Confirmed)
Chris and wife (TBD)
Greg and Shelley (TBD)
Bryan89 and girlfriend(Confirmed)
Excessive and wife (Confirmed)
Clint and wife (from work TBD)
Dustin and wife (TBD)
Glenn's help from shop (TBD)
Redfish Bluegrass and wife (Confirmed)
Jamie from SPARKS (TBD)

Should be a good turnout...we have 15-16 confirmed...possible 5-6 more. Ought to be a healthy time indeed... :steer:

I can bring my big oyster cooker that I use for oyster caterings. For this many people I can pump out the oysters with my cookers.

brock,
just checked with the woman,
you can put me down for a definite appearance, plus 1.

Pen me in! Jess and I will be there for sure

somewhere in intracoastal waterway :)

not sure...last time I bought a bushel from Huffs and not sure where Glenn got the rest.

You volunteering to go out and rake some oysters, wash them, and bust into small clusters? ;)

If someone has a boat sure I'd be happy to go out with ya.... But otherwise I was just wondering....

I have gone out and got them before....but was so worn out afterwards I wanted to sleep rather than eat them...LOL I would rather buy them... and eat until I puke :)

These lowcountry oysters dont work like the singles from the bayous....I ate 6 dozen one time and only 2 dozen worked.... ;) LMMFAO

Sellsfish in Summerville rocks! Prices are great, and all local and fresh

It would only cost me $12 in gas to drive from Mt P to Carolina Seafood and back. If you are talking about 5-6 bushels that's saving $50. Not huge, but:meh:.

Local Summerville oysters, I wouldn't eat any of those out of the West Ashley river.

Pretty sure Bulls Bay, McVille, and Beaufort is about as "local" as Charleston fish markets get. Just saying is it worth calling around if you are buying a lot. If Bessingerstein was footting the bill you know he would.

if Bessengstein was doing it he would go to shell dumping ground and get old oyster shells and then put canned oysters on each one and try to tell it was oysters on half shell... :)

That sounds like a lot of work. I simply would just tell y'all to screw off and fend for yourselves. Then I would eat your oysters.

Volunteer to help out on something if you plan on coming...

Hot Dogs or kid friendly food or for those that dont like oysters- Robert and Jess

Sides, ice, cooker, paper products- Michael

Drinks (soda, etc)- Clayton

Oyster Knives- Bring your own...sell at Piggly Wiggly, Berlins, Charleston Hardware, Walmart, etc

Beer/Wine/Etc- BYOB

anything else you can think of??
