Gents,
My trailer is just about done, and I'm pulling the trigger on the tent. I spoke to the guys at Campinglab this morning and I'm up in the air regarding which tent to choose. I am looking at the Campinglab 71x94 or the Serengeti 63x94, as they are currently out of the 55x94 Campinglab. My understanding is that the Serengeti fabric is a little heavier but the Campinglab has an Aluminum base vice Marine Plywood. The big question remaining in my mind is sleepability; such as windows, sleeping pad, storage while closed... Just looking for a few thoughts and real world experiences. By the way it's going on the rack I built over my SOA M416. Thanks for the help.

A 3 person (adult) RTT is pretty darn big. They take up pretty much the entire top of a SUV. A 2 person RTT takes up most of the top of a SUV but leaves a bit of room to attach extra gear such as fuel cans, storage boxes, etc - something to think about.

The Serengeti is designed specifically for a trailer and has the curtain as part of the tent and it's much more expensive. The camping lab tent are more designed for a roof top, unless you don't care about the curtain below a tent.

I say go with the Campinglab for a couple of reassons. The quality is there, the price is right, and the purchase will leave you with ectra funds for additional equipment/upgrades, and if you decide later that the tent is not what you want...I guarentee that you will be able to sell it for a decent price where you only lose out on a little money.

As far as the skirt underneath....for an additioanl $80, Campinglab has a detachable room for it.

I have the camping labs tent and I've been very pleased with the product! Mine will also be mounted to my M416 once the build is complete.
