My 28 year old son is borrowing my truck for a camping outing up to Palomar with friends. No off roading planned. All the 'stuff' he was taking - basically my camping gear - wouldn't fit in his car along with one or two passengers. In a moment of shear stupidity, loving father, I don't know what, I offered to let him use the truck.

He wasn't sure if he'd pop up the RTT, but he knows how to open and close it.

While it took a few extra years, he's grown up to be an extremely sharp young man (takes after his mother!) and responsible so I'm only worrying a little bit.

It's odd me being at home and the truck not there and I need a support group to handle my separation anxieties!

HELP!

Well, we will be at Mike's BBQ next Tuesday the 5th around 5:30 for beers and cruisers so you might swing by? You can tell us all realtime how it went.

Mike's BBQ in Escondido is a little far, but thanks!

One of my boys asked if he could take my truck recently. I wasn't as giving as you..........at least not this trip.

LOL. Truck came home in great shape. Joke at their camp was whenever anyone needed anything they just asked my son because it was in the truck!

Play more golf and watch episodes of 4WD Action 4WD Action

Before you know it your beloved 80 will be back and you will be itching for a trip.

I am itching for a trip. Visited Scott and Mary-Austin Fajack last night at Sue Greenwood Galleries and always discuss trips - they get out a lot. Mary is one hell of an artist. Been wheeling with them since the '06 DV trips with the NorCal guys.

Postscript to this. Was up in Monache Meadows a week ago. Had asked son if there were still adequate supplies before I left. He said yes. My first mistake! Get up to Monache Meadows back at the river sites - a good 2 hours from the closest small general store in the area. Get ready for dinner - no plates in the kitchen box! My mistake for not checking what my son said! Our Snow Peak guy on the trip loaned me a titanium Snow Peak plate. I think the food tasted better off the gold plated Snow Peak! Thanks Jeff! :)
