I have had Reds in all my truck for years had a few go bad but over all I wouldnt run anything else... I have had acid batterys eat hole in the fire wall of Heeps and I have recovered myself when I was upside down 2x try that with a acid battery and not eat your hood off

My first red top was purchased in 2001 and had intermittent use in my 40 all of it's life. I drained it all the way to nothing once and used a trickle charge to bring it back to life 5 years ago and never had a problem with it. I also had an under sized realy for my electric fan overheat and melted a hole into the side of it at GSMTR 2008! A little RTV silicone kept the fluid from leaking and I used it up until this last summer when I finally replaced it with a new red top.

The battery was still holding a charge and probably would have worked for quite some time, but I did an engine swap and decided to replace it for peace of mind. I didn't turn it in for the core, and I have thought about trying it in my 45 just to see how long it'll last. :grinpimp: Honestly it's amazing the abuse it took and how it still kept going.
