Havnt got to enjoy my Cruiser yet and have been working hard to get it to the point its at. Life has happened and I must sell my Toy and make room for a new addition. Kind of bitter sweet. I know this isnt the classified section, but I thought that since this is the Texas chapter that someone local would know or be interested themselves in a fine specimen of a LC.
It is a 1966 FJ40 factory hardtop, Manufacturer date 7/65. Most of a body off resto has been done. Most of the hard stuff anyway. The chassis is completely rebuilt and coated in POR15. It has new DRUM brakes all around. The power-train has been completely rebuilt. The motor is original Toyota, (f1 I BELIEVE) w a rebuilt 4 speed tranny and rebuilt transfer case. The front end such as steering components, axle components, and hubs have all been meticulously gone through and put back as new. It also has been fitted w power steering.
The body was in really good condition but not rust free. Compared to many I've seen, it was pretty darn close. The tub has been sand blasted and I have cut most of the bad out. I have purchased most all of the sheet metal parts and body panels to complete the fix. I have the fender patches for back corners, new rear sill and inside channel. I also have new rockers. The current ones aren't rusted, but have a few dents and I thought it would be better to replace them while I'm at it as opposed to just doing body filler. There is a couple small spots in the floor board that need patching as well, and have been cut out. Nothing in a rib anywhere that I'm aware of. I have all of the glass. The hard top sides have been blasted too. I also have the original doors, with no rust at all. The only door w any rust is one of the back doors, and is is minor and patchable. I have boxes and boxes of components to put this thing in showroom condition. All of the original parts and lots of parts I've gathered to do some upgrades. I just purchased a new body bolt kit from CCOT and have a large assortment of NEW zinc bolts, nuts, and screws.
I know I'm leaving something out, but just ask me and I'll let you know what I've got. I really hate to do this but my family is whats important right now. I can do this when I'm old! Please PM me if you have any questions. I'll put up a couple pics I have and can take more if you need them.
