I've been getting this pop up here lately.

The current webpage is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to allow this?

Anything to be concerned about?

all the time, or only when one certain vendor banner appears?

It's got to be just one vendor, because it's very random..

It happened twice yesterday, but nothing the day before.

so, which banner then? would help in tracking it down...I haven't experienced anything, and haven't had any other reports either...

I didn't pay attention, I'll make sure I do so when/if it happens again.

Can be a DNS error related to one specific banner, since some of them are remotely hosted

hhmm...the Marlin banner is locally hosted...must be something else, but unsure what....

I'd bet a dollar it's on my end since I'm the only one this seems to happen to. If you have any revelations let me know, if it only pops up once and a while, no biggie..
