Seat function sanity check. I could swear my seats used to... (1 Viewer)

Am I totally losing my mind? I could swear my seat used move away from the dash and my steering column would retract when I turned the truck off.
Its supposed to do that, right? Like to give you room to exit the vehicle, right? I'm not imagining it did that, right?

I programmed position 1 and 2 because i had surgery and really wanted to give myself a wide birth getting in and out, then hitting the other memory button to get back my preferred spot. But now it wont adjust when I turn the car on or off, return to memory position on its own

I didnt sync my FOB to the seat position. Any way to factory set the seats?

I do believe that is a setting somewhere in the Infotainment unit. I'm sure @Acrad will be along momentarily to post the page from the manual to show you how to set it........3.......2......1........

Are you using the parking brake?

I noticed the 200 platform will
Raise steering column and retract seat fully when parking brake is used but not when it isn’t.

Seat you can change in customize settings but steering wheel is a Techstream or Carista customization

If anyone comes across any 3rd party physical standalone “full vehicle” OBD readers (not a phone app) that can do customizations as well please let everyone know. I know there are some for codes but not customizations.

Carista is the only 3rd party I am aware of that can do the customizations.

On my 19 it is called "Driver's Seat Easy Exit" and you can turn it on or off in the Infotainment menu. I turned mine off which is how I know, but could see why someone would want it especially if you had surgery. IIRC the steering wheel still tilts out of the way with seats off but I could be wrong and I've only had one cup of coffee so far.

This is in a 16 same way I did it in mine

i wonder if theres a computer glitching out somewhere. My radio will change stations every so often by itself, but always when I'm fiddling with something, like adjusting a vent or something. Something that has me questioning my sanity like "i KNOW i didnt come near the change station button on steering wheel or radio, but did I where i adjusted the mirror" or something like that

Thanks. I've tried a number of times. It moved correctly 1x, then stopped. At this point, i think its either 1 fob, 2 different settings, or a issue with the ECU going out or something or the settings in my seat causing a issue. Position 2 is a low as it can get. not all the way back, but maybe because theres nowhere to go on one memory setting, the whole thing doesnt work

Man, that's a weird one.

My experience has been once a change is made(seat position, steering wheel), then the next time the truck is started it doesn't automatically revert to the previous memory setting. I would need to "hit #1" for example, to set it back.

I misread what the issue was.. I thought you were trying to deactivate the option. Too early today for my response
