Seat Configuration

So my wife and I are looking (still) for a newer LC. I drove my father's 97 Limited Edition the other day and noticed the 3rd row of seats only has 2 seatbelts. Is this by design? Was the 3rd seatbelt in the 3rd row removed in newer LCs or was it an option. I ask because we like the 8 passenger seating we have with our 91 and need to know what to specify as options (8 passenger seating).

3rd row seat belts

I have 3 seat belts on my third row seating in a 99 Cruiser. The middle one just doesn't have the shoulder strap like the middle of the second row.
