A friend of my wife is involved in the search being organized this Sunday in the Otay area. I know many of us are camping but for any who are not and are interested in assisting in the search, the link below has the details. As I understand it, Maya and her husband were Jeep / off road enthusiasts and it is suspected that the local terrain might have been utilized to dispose of her body. They need vehicles that can get in the back country and, well, ours sure can. I will post this in the other local clubhouses.

Search for Maya

Maybe we should consider a club organized search?

It looks like they will be scheduling more searches. They did some searching in McCain Valley but could use more help in that region.

They need drones and pilots. So I'm hoping to make it on their next search.

Me too

Frank and I are going the search this coming Saturday. It's an early start at McCain valley. I'm bringing my drone to help get to some places.

I am working out the details with the family but we are looking at McCain or Ocotillo. It would be an early departure. They are getting quite desperate so any help will be very much appreciated.

A few things:

- Her husband presumably did the deed over a 10-11 hour time span on January 6th. The house was found with their comforter missing and lots of new drywall patching in the bedroom.
- He had their 4 year old in the car with him for the duration of that time span.
- He was driving her 2016 GX 460, unmodified.
- He see exiting Proctor road west side and police (who have the car) report the tires we at a lower than expected pressure.
- The family were avid campers and off roaders and visited Ocotillo often.
- We can assume he did this on one take of gas so probably a 200ish mile loop from Jacumba.
- January 6th is a Wednesday but the height of desert season so digging a big hole would need to have been done somewhere secluded.

They asking how many we can muster so if any can support please post up and Tim and I can get the details ironed out.

The first map includes the mud caves. Are the caves part of the search?

Also, Arroyo Tapiado continues for a ways past the turnoff to get to Diablo Dropoff. Accessible with a stock GX I believe.

The family went camping with their Jeep club at or near Fish Creek 12/27 and ran those routes I posted. 10 days later she disappeared. It's a Wednesday but the height of use for that area so I am thinking we want to think of lightly or no-trafficked areas. I think all ideas and suggestions are on the table.

It's hard to put yourself into the head of an evil/crazy person but when I try to put the situation together, you had a fight so violent the walls had to be repaired, you likely wrapped your dead spouse in a comforter, put her in the car, got your 4 year old, maybe remembered enough supplies to keep the 4 year old going all day, and then took off to find a place to hide the evidence. You have a few logistical issues. You can't dig a hole in front of the 4 year old as they are harbingers of honesty. You probably don't want to leave the vehicle for much time or risk a screaming kid attracting attention. You don't want t park the vehicle where it can be seen / heard. You are probably second guessing your every move making lots of in-outs. Eventually you need to settle on a place that is hidden, well out of earshot, and with ground soft enough to dig into. If anyone has planted a small bush or tree, it's hours to dig a trench that size and so one would likely be heavily interrupted by the 4 year old during the course. If she is out there, he also picked a spot that is out of smell-shot.

For all of the times we have gone out there and thought to ourselves... "I wonder where that goes...", this will likely be the time to find out.

I should have the meeting place/time shortly, could we get a role call of who can make it?

- Elripster
- Phucrum
- ?

I would like to join but unfortunately I am not able to this weekend.

Folks, the plan is to meet at the Sears parking lot at North County Fair at 8AM Saturday for any that can make it.
