A guy named Frank LoGrasso struck a conversation with me as I was stopping by the store on the way to the meeting. He's the VP of NMSAR:

He said they need 4 wheelers and ATV'ers, Hams are even better. Cy and Paul may have more information.

that's an overland first aide course, similar to wilderness first aide, but directed toward vehicle based wilderness.
