I am working on the seams in the interior of the doors on my FJ60. I picked up some Evercoat 305 (caulk gun tube) and applied it over 2K primer. I used a nitrile glove with laquer thinner to just run my finger over my work to form it up.

Six hours later, it is still very tacky and rubber(y). I thought - perhaps mistakenly - that this would set up and be firmer?

Wrong product to use?

May have something to do with the laquer thinner spread on top. IME it has dried the outer layer rather quickly & the manuf states it can be painted as soon as the outer skin is dry. Maybe a quick flash with plumbers torch to evap the thinner ??
