I thought I saw here sometime back a product that is a clear plastic film that sticks to your side panels and doors to prevent scratches (desert pin stripes).

At the time I thought it was really tacky, but I've really gotten into going up these radical little motorcycle (goat) trails and I'm scratching the sh*t out of my FJC.

Now I'm thinking, great idea!

Help!

IIRC Cabelas sells that stuff as do others I'm sure....Start with cabelas.com and go from there...I was thinking about getting some for my 40 at one time. I think they had clear but also camo.

OK, here is the stuff.

This guy is cool.

He has pre cut film for the front and back of the FJC, but I want the sides.

I just called him and he will come out to my house (he is in Temecula, CA and I am in Fullerton, CA) and do a custom install (2 - 3 hours).

He estimates the cost at $450-$500.

I think it's worth it, my paint job is really getting scratched up.

Hey, if you spend $600 or more he will do your headlights for free :)

Let us know how it turns out. I've seen the invisible bras on the front of vehicles before and thought they don't look all that invisible. But may if you do the entire side it would be more 'invisible'.

Today, I officially got my first major scratches on my door. Of course I was out shopping and came back to some odd looking scratches. What would be that best option for me? A wax or something to fill in the cracks? Im sooooooo bummed:frown:

PM Idahodoug, member of this board, he can set you up with 3M material.
