Has anyone on here tryed to change the color on the Pioneer/Scion T1808? I have a friend who owns an electronics shop and Is very capable but I just wondered how many bulbs and would It be worth the trouble? Thanks In advance Worley:beer:

No bulbs - it is illuminated by 0603 SMT (surface mount) LEDs. For reference one of those is about the size of a match head. The LEDs are soldered on two sides. A soldering iron and a solder sucker is needed to remove them. The solder sucker removes the solder once it is melted (you can do this one side at a time.) Then the new color LED gets soldered down - here you are going to need to solder both sides simultaneously. Some people modify their iron so that it comes to two points - so that you can simultaneously melt the solder on both sides of the LED. LEDs are polarity sensitive - so you will need to make sure that it is oriented correctly. I believe that there are something like two dozen of them on the radio and then two or three standard LEDs as well. It is on my list - but I have not gotten to it yet.

Is the 1808 not one of the Scion radios that can change colors? Do only certain models have that feature?

Only the 1806 if I remember correctly

Thanks for this. I installed the 1808 last night and the orange is not what I expected. But for $50.00 it is not that bad. If you tackle the change let me know.
