I was trying the RUF with 60gear up front and thought while everything is apart ill see if the 4inch wheelbase extension works by flipping the springs.

What do you think of this steering? Dodgy?

The RUF looks like it will flex quite nicely once done though

Might have a problem with the tie and drag rod hitting each other?????:p Steering could bind up.:)

Cant wait to hear how the cruiser handles now!!!

Have u seen BJ71's Bull Bar Mod? Something like that would look great on your rig!!

Keep the Mods Coming!!!!!!:beer::beer:

Gav.

aahah no hope of that steering working with that setup. Would work if you moved the steering box forward. With my RUF the springs are the other way around, but I drilled the perches. Steering JUST rubs. Wouldnt want to go any more forward though. I had to trim the body mounts for tyre clearance and the tyres rub at the front of the inner guards.

Thanks guys yeah its pretty clear it wont work for me so i just flipped them back last night. And the RUF is looking good. Shackle angle is at 45degrees but is holding the front up fine. And i have shocks long enough for the travel expected i just have to weld the ford shock towers in now. Hulsty did you reweld the spring hanger forward? Did you reuse the stock one? How far forward did you go?

Mabey silly ? but mate whats the RUF stand for

Rears up front. Its when you take the rear main and wrap leaf and put it up the front with the rest of your old pack in the aim to get better travel because it is a longer spring.

Its common on sierras and hiluxs and is possible with 7* series by using 60series rear springs rears up front.

Not sure of the brand but they are 2inch lifted 60 rears. My shackle angle is pretty much dead on 45degrees it looks like it is holding up fairly well.. but it might settle in a bit further im not sure. How did you get your axle forward 45mm? Mine is 25mm forward at the moment.

Can you post a pic of your hanger relocation? Where you able to use the stock hanger?

The springs I used moved the diff forward abit, then I re-drilled the perches for the rest.

Made new front hangers when I moved them forward.

If I had my time again i'd probably use 2'' lifted 70 springs with a stock shackles and move the hanger backwards to achieve the required shackle angle combined with a spring re arch for the lift.

Would give resonable flex and a much better approach angle. Though approach angles have never really been much of an issue for me.

Thats pretty much the way mine sits. Yeah i was worried a bit about approach angle thats why ive been trying to move my diff further forward. But ill see how it goes
