Hello all, I have found myself in a bit of a predicament. I dropped my 62 at a "friend" of a friend's shop so we could start my SBC swap. To make a long story short, I need to get my rig out of his shop asap. Nothing has been done to the truck in the 3 months it's been there besides collecting a nice new layer of dust. My predicament is now I have no place to take the rig to start the swap. I have 90% of the material needed to start the swap I am just missing the little parts that need to be custom made such as ps hoses, fuel lines, ect.. Can any of you local guys point me in the direction of someone experienced in doing a swap, or someone who has a shop I can take the rig to? Any help will be appreciated.

most of us with 350's did it ourselves. I have the engine hoist at my house if you need it. don't be scared of it. I did mine on gravel with a small bag of hand tools and a cheap welder (tack ins only, had someone else do the final welds) and mine got full on port fuel injection, auto trans and dodge tcase. I don't know your time situation and skill/comfort level with it though. other than that I can't help much.:hillbilly:

I dont mind doing the work myself, with some guidance of course, its mostly a space issue. I have no room in my garage and my neighorhood HOA wouldnt be very found of me doing a swap in the driveway. They fine me if my trash can is out past 5:30. I have access to all the tools I need, becides a welder. I guess maybe this will give me an excuse to throw away some of the junk in the garage as well as buy myself a little welder. Any who, if any one would like to help with the swap let me know. I will start a build thread as soon as I start. On a side note is anyone on here or does anyone know two 60 owners that just moved to Montecito Estates on the Westside? If so we are neighbors, just saying Hi.

where about on the west side are you? I can occasionally come by to look and help turn wrenches/suggest ideas. I'm sure we can get a couple others to do so too. help here in a thread is very easy for us too. get some space and save yourself several thousand $$. :D unless someone comes by with a good suggestion of a place to take to be done.

I am at unser and rainbow, but I may have found a place to take it in the east mountains. I know is kinda far, but he has a pretty good size shop at his house. I will still take up any offers for help turning wrenches or advice. I've done quite a bit of homework, but I am sure every swap is a little different. I am super excited to get this thing started. It's been parked for at least 2 years.
