I am in the middle of having to move and have to get the clutch in my FJ55 replaced. I have a new McLeod clutch kit waiting at home, good for 500 hp :D

I have no manuals available, they are packed.

What is the torque for the pressure plate? I am hoping the kit has some numbers, but in case they don't....

Also, what should the bell housing be torqued to?

It should be fun, trying to get the NV4500 back in place

Any good suggestions on holding the flywheel in place while the pressure plate gets torqued?

Bellhousing- Get tight, torque not too important.

IIRC the torque for the pressure plate is in the 75-80 lb range, tightened in a criss-cross pattern. I use a large pry bar or screwdriver to hold the flywheel using the ring gear.

Thanks!

I have always just used a big crowbar to put in a tooth and wedge it against the concrete. I got overly paranoid and didn't want to mess it up.

Mace is right, I was thinking the flywheel itself. My mistake.

Yep...........grade 8 3/8-16 gets torqued to 35 ft/lbs.

Thanks!
